Patria, a Finnish company, announced an investment of US$ 43.3 million to expand its armored vehicle production in Hämeenlinna.

The goal is to increase production capacity, including the construction of new workshops, with the aim of doubling the production of armored vehicles. The completion of the new facilities is scheduled for 2027, and the expansion is in response to the growing number of armored vehicle orders from the company.

The company has already received more than 800 orders for Patria 6×6 armored personnel carriers, with over 200 units delivered under the international Common Armored Vehicle System (CAVS) program, which involves countries such as Finland, Latvia, Sweden, and Germany. Additionally, Patria is providing AMV XP 8×8 vehicles to Slovakia and Japan, with plans for local production in these countries.

Recently, Patria opened a new armored vehicle production unit in Valmiera, Latvia. The company also announced that, in February 2024, the Latvian government will send 42 Patria 6×6 vehicles to Ukraine as part of military aid, highlighting the growing interest and demand for its products.
